Education and Research
Center for Hyperbaric Medicine & Educationto train physicians and allied health professionals in treatment of all applications of hyperbaric and environment medicine including neurological conditions so that these medical breakthroughs are available everywhere.
IHMF supports through scholarships and where possible, hosts or provides physician and allied health professional training. This includes formal courses for health care professionals and "Grand Rounds" by notable hyperbaric specialists to medical schools, hospital or clinic practices, and medical specialty societies.
The Hoggard/Locklear Scholarship Fund is an endowment fund that pays scholarships and loans on a revolving basis (with the principle paid back to sponsor future scholarships). The Fund supports medical students, nursing students, nurses, EMTs and DMTs or other health care professionals qualified to become licensed physicians, Baromedical Nurses or Certified Hyperbaric Technicians. These technical courses are often not qualified for Federal Student Aid. Given the hyperbaric health care personnel shortage in this growing health care market, the fund is needed to help reduce current shortages in these qualified personnel.
John M. Eisenberg Center for Evidence-based Medicine, Translational Medicine, and Research to foster research and data collection necessary to demonstrate to the government and insurance companies how oxygen saturation technology and other off-label uses of drugs, devices and innovative therapies will save them money, while restoring quality of life to patients and increase the effectiveness of medicine throughout the world.
Patient's Legal Defense Fund
PLDF: to protect the rights of patients to receive HBOT and fund the effort to enable patients to obtain treatment they desire and to improve insurance reimbursement by assisting patients with additional scientific information to gain insurance coverage.
Patient's Legal Defense Fund:
When a physician's son drown and was revived, he begged his hospital to get hyperbaric oxygen therapy for his son. They refused. The Hyperbaric Medical Team went in and assisted him in court, and the court ordered his treatment. Today he still has his son, and we continue to answer the call when help is needed.
When a Physician followed every rule for Medicare Reimbursement, and was denied payment by his State's Medicare Intermediary, the IHMF Legal team went into action. After winning the appeal with the Administrative Law Judge, who ruled the denial of payment groundless, the physician was paid and continues to offer limb-saving treatment.
Your Donation to this Fund helps improve patient access to treatment, like the case above, and improve payment for treatment through appeals when insurance payments are denied.
Upon completion you will be given a receipt suitable for tax purposes. The International Hyperbaric Medical Foundation is a 501(c) 3 charity. Dedicated to the Science and Translation of Hyperbaric Medical Discoveries into Clinical Practice
